THis is a popular game, that may have some benefits for education purposes. however there are some other similar games, that have even better things to learn from. For example, real time strategy games that play the roman empire era, can show facts and data about historical events, ancient lifestyle, and so on. All this is not present in Starcraft (X3_RSM Xátiva Workshop 3)

If you want to play this game in a more easy way, you would better find other people to play online in a easy level, i.e. those people should have your same level. Playing against the machine seemed a bit difficult. Moreover, this kind of game is better for kids as they learn to cooperate (IES SImarro. Workshop 3 X3_AGP)

After reading some comments and as I know the game, I´d say it is recommendable but there are best games for the students. Also I know of people too addicted to this game. Salva Moscardó. From Ies Simarro course III
